Branding Coworkable.com: Interesting Story on how we named our Product? (Part 1)

As we all know that getting a striking and clear brand name will establish the product's marketplace presence, convey what we do, and create a memorable impression. But it’s the hardest task for startups when it comes to branding.

To us naming our product was gone so straightforward. Even though, our brand name Coworkable.com looks so obvious, it has got an interesting twist behind this name. When we started the process, we are very clear on naming our product something very simple, easy to spell and self-explanatory.

As the idea of our product, is to share or rent office spaces and skills. We put together a big list of keywords, finally we thought of picking and experiment with two main keywords:
  • Cowork
  • Table (desks)
As these two words are more reasonable and clearly describes what we do. So we decided to try joining the two words ‘Cowork’ and ‘Table’, which came up as ‘Coworktable’.
But the word Coworktable is not easier to pronounce and not so catchy. While we are trying with many variations of words, we got our eureka moment when we thought of dropping the letter “T” from the word “Coworktable”, to make it as “Coworkable”:

As we thought Coworkable will be much easy to pronounce and quite understandable about what we does, so we finally settled with it.

That’s how we got the name Coworkable.com. We won’t say it’s the best name we could come up with, but it’s very clear in conveying what we do to our target audience.

In the next part, we will look into how we came up with Coworkable.com brand design.
